Biography

Greek progressive rock band Aphrodite's Child, active from the late '60s to early '70s, achieved international success with hits like "Rain and Tears" and the acclaimed 1972 album 666. The band, consisting of Vangelis Papathanassiou, Demis Roussos, Loukas Sideras, and Silver Koulouris, disbanded upon the album's release, with Vangelis going on to a successful solo career. Despite never reuniting, some members have collaborated sporadically, with Vangelis passing away in 2022. 666, a musical interpretation of the Book of Revelation, has since gained a cult following and is considered a pioneering concept album in rock music history, spawning numerous covers and samples.
