Anna Lapwood

Anna Lapwood, a versatile musician known for her roles as an organist, conductor, and broadcaster, serves as the Director of Music at Pembroke College, Cambridge. In 2021, Lapwood released her debut solo album 'Images' on Signum, featuring her transcription of Britten's 'Four Sea Interludes' from "Peter Grimes" and published a new anthology of organ pieces by female composers titled 'Gregoriana' with Stainer & Bell. She is set to release two new albums featuring the Pembroke Choirs on Signum Records in 2022.

Notable performances by Lapwood include her BBC Proms debut as a soloist in Saint-Saëns' 'Organ Symphony' with the Hallé Orchestra and Sir Mark Elder in 2021. She has also appeared in various concerts and recitals, including a BBC Young Musician TV presentation and a televised BBC Prom from the Royal Albert Hall. Lapwood is dedicated to promoting opportunities for women in music, evident in her advocacy for equality and diversity, reflected in her programming choices and her hashtag, #playlikeagirl, which has inspired many young women in the field.
