Anita O’Day

Anita O'Day was a groundbreaking female jazz vocalist known for her exuberance and skill in improvisation, range, tone, and rhythm. Rising from challenging beginnings, she made a mark in big bands before launching a successful solo career in the 1940s, incorporating bop modernism into her vocals.
