Biography

Puerto Rican vocalist Andy Montañez, known for his high nasal tone, has been influenced by the Spanish music traditions of the Caribbean. He gained recognition as the lead singer of El Gran Combo in 1961, staying with the group for 15 years before joining Dimensi'n Latina in 1977. Montañez later embarked on a solo career, maintaining a band with a similar instrumental lineup to El Gran Combo. His most recent album, "Salsa con Reggaetón," was released in 2006.
