After the Bee Gees' career resurgence in 1977 with the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, Andy Gibb launched his own successful solo career, following in his brothers' disco style. His first three singles all reached number one, with three more consecutive Top Ten hits solidifying his status as an overnight sensation. However, despite continued success, Gibb's streak of Top Ten hits began to decline in 1980, and by 1981, he had his last Top 40 hit before turning to acting. Unfortunately, Gibb's life was plagued by a severe cocaine addiction, ultimately leading to his untimely death in 1988 at the age of 30 due to an inflammatory heart virus.
