Biography

Distribuido por Altafonte Music Network, Amar Azul se formó en la década del 90 en la zona norte de Buenos Aires. Tras el lanzamiento de su primer disco homónimo en 1992, la banda logró cierto éxito en radios de música tropical. Tras un fracaso en ventas con su segundo trabajo "Con amor", la banda se separó brevemente en 1994 antes de reunirse en 1995 con Gonzalo Ferrer, quien aportó un nuevo enfoque musical que combinaba acordeón sintetizado y latón con letras sobre temas de jarana, amor y lo social, marcando así un estilo pegajoso y fácilmente identificable. A pesar de la inicial resistencia, el enfoque musical de Ferrer resultó ser el secreto del éxito de la banda en la revolucionaria escena de la cumbia.
