Biography

ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) is an American rock group known for their improvisational style and laid-back California sound. Formed in the late 1990s, the band gained popularity on the jam band circuit and collaborated with artist Jack Johnson on their 2006 album, Fly Between Falls. ALO has released a series of diverse albums, including Sounds Like This (2012), Tangle of Time (2015), and Silver Saturdays (2023), showcasing their energetic live performances and musical innovation.

The core members of ALO, Zach Gill, Steve Adams, and Dan Lebowitz, met in high school and later formed the band in Santa Barbara with drummer David Brogan. Despite early challenges, including lineup changes and relocations, the band found stability and success with the release of their debut album, Fly Between Falls, in 2005. Over the years, ALO has continued to evolve their sound and build a loyal fanbase, culminating in their 25th-anniversary celebration with the release of Silver Saturdays in 2023, featuring drummer and vocalist Ezra Lipp.
