In the late '80s, the renowned Los Angeles punk rockers the Descendents went on hiatus when singer Milo Aukerman left to attend college. The remaining members continued as ALL, with former Descendents members Bill Stevenson, Stephen Egerton, and Karl Alvarez, alongside Dag Nasty frontman Dave Smalley. After releasing several albums with different vocalists, including Scott Reynolds and Chad Price, ALL reunited briefly with Aukerman to release the album Everything Sucks in 1996.

During their time as ALL, the band released multiple albums under different vocalists before reuniting with Milo Aukerman for the album Everything Sucks in 1996. The band's journey included collaborations with various vocalists, a brief stint with a major label, and ultimately signing with Epitaph to release albums like Mass Nerder, ALL, and Problematic.
