Ali Campbell, born Alistair Campbell in Birmingham, England in 1959, rose to fame as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the popular U.K. reggae band UB40. The band gained international success with their covers of hits like "Red Red Wine" and "(I Can't Help) Falling in Love with You," and Campbell's solo career took off in 1995 with the release of his debut album "Big Love," featuring the hit duet "That Look in Your Eyes."

In 2008, Campbell parted ways with UB40 due to alleged bad business practices by band management, and released solo albums like "Running Free" and "Flying High," showcasing a modern sound with collaborations with artists like Sway and Britney Spears. Over the years, Campbell continued to release albums filled with cover versions of popular songs, with his fifth solo album "Silhouette" in 2014 featuring contributions from former UB40 member Astro and focusing on reggae and pop covers of songs by artists like the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Dennis Brown.
