Biography

A Tribe Called Quest, part of the influential Native Tongues collective, blended introspective lyrics with innovative sampling, creating a groundbreaking sound that reshaped hip-hop in the 1990s. Their platinum-selling albums like The Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders solidified their status as one of the era's most essential groups. Despite disbanding in 1998, they reunited several times over the years, culminating in the release of their final album, We Got It from Here...Thank You 4 Your Service, in 2016, following the passing of founding member Phife Dawg.

Formed in the late 1980s, A Tribe Called Quest, led by Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, quickly rose to prominence with their jazz-infused second album, The Low End Theory, widely regarded as a classic in hip-hop history. The group's legacy continued with Beats, Rhymes and Life and subsequent projects, earning them critical acclaim and commercial success. Following Phife Dawg's passing in 2016, the group completed their final album, solidifying their place as one of the most innovative and influential rap acts of all time.
