Vocalists Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto, friends since school, formed a band after gaining popularity on the Italian TV show 1,2,3 Jovanotti. Their debut album, Hanno Ucciso l'Uomo Ragno, reached number one in Italy, propelled by the success of the single "Non Me la Menare." Pezzali continued the group after Repetto's departure, releasing hits like "Sei un Mito" and "Come Mai" from their album Nord Sud Ovest Est. Pezzali's solo career began after several successful albums with 883, including the chart-topping single "Un Giorno Così" from La Dura Legge del Gol!. He later pursued a solo path, releasing albums like Grazie Mille and Uno in Piu'.
