Biography

Formed in 1981 in Jamestown, New York, 10,000 Maniacs embodies the city's blue-collar poetry with their honest and hardworking approach to crafting real-life stories through music. Despite transitioning from cult-heroes to international stardom, the band maintains a consistent sound and spirit over their 35-plus years, with the lineup still anchored by four of the six original members. Co-founded by keyboardist Dennis Drew and bassist Steven Gustafson, the band welcomed back founding guitarist/singer John Lombardo in 2015, alongside long-time collaborator Mary Ramsey and lead guitarist Jeff Erickson, who joined the family after the passing of their mentor Rob Buck.

With their roots deeply entrenched in Jamestown's ethos, 10,000 Maniacs has evolved into a cornerstone alternative band, showcasing their entire catalogue during live performances while staying true to their familial bond and commitment to moving forward together.
