Jamal Thioune, known professionally as Youv Dee, was born on March 5, 1996 in Gonesse, France. Influenced by American rap artists like Skimask, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, and Trippie Redd, he began his music career at 17 by performing at open stages in Paris. Youv Dee joined the L'Ordre du Périph collective, releasing EPs such as Vogue Merry in 2017 and Mugiwara in 2018 with fellow members. He also established himself as a solo artist, with his Gear 2 mixtape gaining over 10 million listens in less than six months after its release in 2017. Youv Dee continued to build his discography with projects like Gear 3 in 2018, and is set to release two EPs, Planète Mars and Haine World, in 2020, leading up to his debut studio album, La Vie de Luxe, in 2021.
