Biography

Siavash Ghomayshi, born in Iran in 1945, left for London at age 11 to study music at the Royal Society of Arts, majoring in jazz. Upon returning to Iran at 25, he began his career as a composer, later transitioning to a singer, composer, arranger, and lyricist. Ghomayshi has released 14 albums to date, blending elements of electronic music while retaining his unique sound, with successful albums like Roozhaye BeeKhatereh (Days of No Memory) and Ghesseye Gol va Tagarg (The Story of Flower and the Hailstorm).

Although known for his nonpolitical music, Ghomayshi's work reflects a longing for his homeland. He has collaborated with fellow Iranian musicians and contributed significantly to albums like Ebi's Stars and Night of Morning Glory. Despite not possessing a powerful voice, Ghomayshi's intimate and engaging songs have defined his Persian-language pop/rock style, setting him apart from mainstream adult contemporary singers. Now in his sixties, he resides in Germany.
