Sara K.

Singer/songwriter Sara K. embarked on her musical journey at 17 and pursued various avenues in the industry, from fronting her own band to studio work and backing country artists in Dallas. Growing up in a musical household, she learned guitar at 15 and crafted a unique hybrid instrument. After leading Sara K. and the Boys Without Sleep and touring with Gary Nunn, she settled in Santa Fe to focus on her own compositions, releasing acclaimed albums like Gypsy Alley and Hobo. Collaborations with musicians like Hui Cox and Chuck Mangione showcased her talent, culminating in the well-received What Matters in 2001.

Throughout her career, Sara K. demonstrated versatility and dedication to her craft, earning accolades such as the Best Album award from the New Mexico Music Industry Coalition for Gypsy Alley. Her signing with Chesky Records led to the release of successful albums like Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin' and Closer Than They Appear. Notable collaborations included a tour in Germany with Hui Cox and contributions to The Postman soundtrack. The live album No Cover, recorded in the acoustically rich St. Peter's Episcopal Church in New York City, showcased her dynamic performances and musical prowess, leading up to the release of What Matters in 2001.
