Kai "Sango" Wright, a versatile producer, hails from Washington state but spent much of his youth in Grand Rapids, Michigan before pursuing a degree in graphic design at Western Michigan University. With a diverse musical palette that encompasses R&B, hip-hop, dubstep, funk carioca, and electronica, Sango's productions defy easy categorization, allowing listeners to interpret his sound for themselves. His growing discography includes collaborative works like 2016's Hours Spent Loving You with Xavier Omar and self-released projects such as 2017's De Mim, Pra Você.
Sango's artistic journey gained momentum with support from Soulection, who released his 2013 project North, as well as high-profile production credits on tracks like "Cold Sweat" by Tinashe and "The Sequence" by Bryson Tiller. Despite his mainstream success, Sango remained dedicated to his independent releases, showcasing his musical evolution as he returned to Seattle to continue creating boundary-pushing beats.
