Sam Jones

Sam Jones, a highly sought-after bassist and jazz cello soloist, consistently delivered memorable music whenever he led sessions. He collaborated with renowned artists such as Louis Hayes, Kenny Dorham, Cannonball Adderley, Dizzy Gillespie, and Thelonious Monk. Jones notably wrote originals like "Unit 7" and "Del Sasser" during his time with Cannonball Adderley's quintet and released several recommended albums showcasing his exceptional cello playing. Following his tenure with the Oscar Peterson Trio, Jones went on to freelance and record extensively, producing albums for various labels until his passing.
