British vocalist and keyboardist Sam Brown rose to fame with her debut album Stop! in 1987, which featured hit singles "Stop" and "This Feeling." Despite early success, subsequent releases like April Moon and 43 Minutes failed to match the album's popularity. Brown, daughter of classical vocalist Vicki Brown, began her music career singing background vocals on albums for artists such as Steve Marriott and Pink Floyd, and later joined the latter on tour in 1994. Following personal challenges, including her mother's passing in 1991, Brown released the deeply personal album 43 Minutes in 1992 after a legal battle with her label.
