Their breakthrough single, "I'll Be by Your Side," released in 2006, quickly garnered acclaim, establishing the signature sound that defined their musical journey. While maintaining this distinctive style throughout their career, their 2013 release, Somewhere Else, offered a glimpse into a darker, neon noir-inspired vibe, particularly evident in their collaboration with Johnny Jewel on the 2022 album Sad Cities under the Italians Do It Better label.

Having first crossed paths in 2001 and bonding over a shared love for Italo disco, Agebjörn recognized Shapiro's vocal talent during a Christmas gathering in 2004, sparking the duo's musical partnership.
