Saint Vitus, a pioneering American doom and sludge metal band, rose to prominence in the 1980s alongside influential acts like Pentagram, Trouble, and Witchfinder General. Drawing inspiration from Black Sabbath, they released several acclaimed albums before disbanding in 1996. However, the group regrouped in 2012 to release their long-awaited eighth studio album, Lillie: F-65, followed by a self-titled LP in 2019.
Originally named Tyrant, Saint Vitus was formed in 1979 in Los Angeles and quickly became known for their slow, heavy sound reminiscent of Black Sabbath.
