Biography
Born on June 10, 1947, in Patterson, NJ, Randy Edelman is a renowned film composer who began playing piano by ear and writing songs at age 14. After studying briefly in Cincinnati, he pursued a music career, working as an arranger at King Records before moving to New York to write at CBS Records. Edelman released his debut pop album in 1972, followed by his first film score, "Outside In." He later settled in Los Angeles and gained recognition for his songwriting, with artists such as Patti LaBelle and Barry Manilow recording his work. Edelman's career expanded to include television scoring, notably for the hit show MacGyver, before earning an Academy Award nomination for his work on The Last of the Mohicans in 1992 and an Emmy Award for his contributions to NBC's coverage of the 1996 Summer Olympics.
