Biography

Ramp, short for "Roy Ayers Music Productions," released a single album in 1977 that gained little attention initially. However, over time, the album has earned a revered status as a rare groove classic, particularly for its standout tracks "Daylight" and a cover of Roy Ayers' "Everybody Loves the Sunshine," both beloved in soul and jazz-funk circles. The group, comprising bassist Nate White, drummer John Manuel, guitarist Landy Shores, and vocalists Sibel Thrasher and Sharon Matthews, regrouped in the early 2000s after disbanding post-release. The album was reissued on CD in Japan in 2007 and later in the United States in October of the same year.
