Biography

Ralph Tresvant, known for his lead vocals in New Edition and the gold R&B hit "Sensitivity," was the last member of the group to release a solo project. Despite the formidable success of New Edition, including four number one R&B singles, Tresvant's solo debut in 1990 with the album "Ralph Tresvant" achieved platinum status and featured hits like "Sensitivity" and "Stone Cold Gentleman." Collaborations with producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis further solidified his solo career with chart-topping success.

Born in Boston and raised in the Roxbury section, Tresvant joined New Edition under producer Maurice Starr's concept of creating a modern-day Jackson 5. The group's string of hits, including "Candy Girl" and "If It Isn't Love," set the stage for Tresvant's solo endeavors. With the support of Jam & Lewis, Tresvant's solo career took off with "Sensitivity" topping the R&B charts. His subsequent hits and collaborations, such as "The Best Things in Life Are Free" and "Money Can't Buy You Love," further showcased his talent beyond the group's success.
