Ralph McTell

Ralph McTell, born Ralph May in 1944, is a prominent figure in British folk music known for his classic song "Streets of London." Despite achieving success in the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand, McTell has only garnered a cult following in the United States, where most of his catalog remains unreleased. His career has been marked by a blend of poignant songwriting and warm vocals, with notable albums including Spiral Staircase, My Side of Your Window, and You Well-Meaning Brought Me Here. McTell found unexpected success in the '80s composing music for children's television before returning to his folk roots with albums like Sand in Your Shoes, Red Sky, and Gates of Eden.
