Biography

For 35 years, Mano Brown, Kl Jay, Ice Blue, and Edi Rock have shed light on the reality of young black individuals in Brazil. As the most impactful quartet in Brazilian music, their shared journey transcended rap, becoming a cornerstone of the country's culture. Their story has been told through albums and EPs such as "Holocausto Urbano" (1990), "Escolha o seu Caminho" (1992), "Raio X Brasil" (1993), "Racionais MCΓÇÖs" (1994), "Sobrevivendo no Inferno" (1997), "Nada Como Um Dia Ap├│s O Outro Dia" (2002), "1000 trutas, 1000 tretas" (2006), and "Cores e Valores" (2014).

Recently, the Netflix original documentary "Racionais: das ruas de São Paulo para o Mundo" showcased the artists' journey through songs of resistance and denunciation, reaching the sixth position in the platform's Global TOP 10 for non-English language films. In 2022, the Racionais MC’s 33 World Tour toured cities across Brazil, headlining major national festivals like CENA 2k22, Forró da Lua Cheia, and Rock in Rio. They also took the tour to the United States, performing in 5 states over 13 days: New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida (Miami and Orlando). As Mano Brown, Kl Jay, Ice Blue, and Edi Rock work on new studio projects, the group aims to expand their presence on stages and in various spaces.
