Biography
Periphery is a leading force in the progressive metal scene, known for their innovative use of detuned, extended-range instruments that push the boundaries of the "djent" movement. Formed in 2005 by guitarist and producer Misha Mansoor, the band gained recognition with their acclaimed self-titled debut in 2010. Over the years, they have evolved their sound and lineup, with albums like Juggernaut (2015) and Periphery III: Select Difficulty (2016) earning critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance.
With roots in Mansoor's earlier project Bulb, Periphery expanded into a full band with members like guitarist Mark Holcomb and bassist Adam Getgood joining the lineup. After parting ways with their record label in 2018, the band released their sixth studio album, Periphery IV: Hail Stan, in 2019 on their independent label, 3DOT Recordings, showcasing their continued growth and influence in the metal genre.
