Pay Money to My Pain (PTP) was a Japanese band that blended post-hardcore and nu-metal elements in their music, distinguished by their anguished, English-language lyrics that aimed to resonate with a global audience. Formed in Tokyo in 2005 by vocalist K after his previous band Gun Dog disbanded, PTP's sound featured harmonically complex guitar arpeggios and syncopated drumming reminiscent of turn-of-the-century emo. Despite their heavy, metal-infused style, the band's name reflected their transparent approach to expressing dark emotions, with guitarist Pablo serving as the primary songwriter.
Signing with Vap in 2006, PTP released their debut single "Drop of Ink" before recording their album Another Day Comes in California in 2007. Over the years, the band underwent changes, with second guitarist Jin leaving in 2008 and K relocating to Los Angeles for English studies in 2010. Despite K's tragic passing in 2012, PTP decided to release a final album in his memory, showcasing new material he had contributed to before his death.
