Pav Dharia, a Punjabi musician and choreographer, was born in Sydney in 1989 to a Sikh family. Drawing inspiration from Indian legends like A. R. Rahman and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Dharia gained recognition with his solo singles in 2012 and released his debut album, "Red," in 2013. The album featured collaborations and showcased his vocals over contemporary beats, becoming a commercial success in India.
In 2014, Pav Dharia received a PTC Punjabi Music Award for Best Non-Resident Music Director. His music blends elements of Western genres like rock and R&B, evident in tracks such as his 2018 collaboration with Khan Saab, "Zindagi Tere Naal." Since 2019, Dharia has performed the Indian national anthem at the Sydney Cricket Ground before test matches, delivering a moving rendition that resonates with Indian players.
