Pat Benatar

Pat Benatar, born Patricia Andrzejewski on January 10, 1953, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, rose to fame in the early '80s as a popular female vocalist known for her polished mainstream pop/rock sound. Discovered in the '70s at the Catch a Rising Star club in New York City, she quickly gained recognition with hits like "Heartbreaker" and "I Need a Lover" from her debut album, 'In the Heat of the Night,' released in 1979. Benatar's sophomore album, 'Crimes of Passion' in 1980, solidified her success with classics such as "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" and "You Better Run," earning her platinum status and establishing her as a top vocalist in rock music.

Throughout the '80s, Benatar continued to release successful albums like 'Precious Time,' 'Get Nervous,' and 'Tropico,' along with hit singles such as "Love Is a Battlefield" and "We Belong." Despite a shift in musical direction with the blues and R&B album 'True Love' in 1991, Benatar maintained a steady presence in the music industry with subsequent releases and live performances. In 2010, she published her memoir, 'Between a Heart and a Rock Place,' and embarked on a 35th-anniversary tour with Neil Giraldo, showcasing her enduring influence in the rock music scene.
