Pastor Lopez

Pastor Lopez, also known as El Indio Lopez, is a revered Venezuelan singer, songwriter, and musician known for his expertise in tropical music genres such as cumbia, vallenato, paseaíto, and porro. Born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, he began singing at a young age and made his first recording at five. Lopez gained popularity in the mid-'60s in Venezuela before joining various bands and eventually forming his own group, Pastor López y Su Combo, in 1973. With a career spanning decades and over 50 albums, his band has maintained a consistent instrumentation of two trumpets, piano, bass, congas, and vocals, attracting top musicians in Colombia and Venezuela.

Internationally recognized, Pastor Lopez's music has reached audiences in countries like the United States, Canada, Spain, and Mexico. Some of his notable albums include Pastor López y Su Combo (1974), El Negro Parrandero (1977), and Con Calor Tropical (1990).
