Biography

Paper Lace was a one-hit wonder in the U.S. but a two-hit wonder in the U.K. The band, formed in Nottingham, England in 1969, gained fame with their rendition of "Billy, Don't Be a Hero" which topped the charts in the U.K. and reached number one in the U.S. with "The Night Chicago Died" following suit. Despite releasing two albums, Paper Lace quickly faded from public view, making a brief return in 1978 with a singalong version of "We've Got the Whole World in Our Hands" with Nottingham Forest FC.
