Biography
London-based band Palma Violets formed in 2010 after a chance meeting at the Reading Festival brought together members Chilli Jenson, Sam Fryer, Peter Mayhew, and Will Doyle, who were seeking a more meaningful music experience. Their residency at Studio 180 in Lambeth allowed them to craft their punk, garage rock, and psych-inspired sound among a creative community, leading to a record deal with Rough Trade. Their debut album "180" in 2013 received acclaim, followed by the polished yet intense "Danger in the Club" in 2015 produced by John Leckie.
Palma Violets' blend of genres and raw energy caught the attention of major labels after gaining a following through sweaty live performances in Lambeth. Their breakout single "Best of Friends" in 2012 was named NME's top track of the year, setting the stage for their debut album and subsequent success.
