Self-taught multi-instrumentalist P.O.S., known for his work as a bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, and drummer, transitioned from a punk background to hip-hop after discovering acts like Company Flow and Oddjobs. His solo debut, Ipecac Neat, released in 2004 with Doomtree, led to a deal with Rhymesayers and subsequent albums like Audition and Never Better, showcasing his politically charged lyrics. After a hiatus due to kidney issues, he returned in 2016 with "sleepdrone/superposition," featuring Kathleen Hanna and Lizzo, and released his fifth album, Chill, Dummy, in 2017.
