Their breakout hit, "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss," topped the charts in 1991, leading to a series of wide-scoped albums that showcased their introspective and spiritual approach to music. Despite setbacks, including the health issues of vocalist Prince Be, their influence can still be heard in contemporary music, with echoes in the work of artists like Kanye West and Drake.

Following the passing of Prince Be in 2016, P.M. Dawn transitioned into a duo with Doc G and later added K-R.O.K. to the lineup in 2018.
