Biography
Originally known as the Soul Partners, the group later rebranded themselves as One Way. Consisting of members Al Hudson, Alicia Myers, Dave Robertson, Cortez Harris, Kevin McCord, Gregory Green, and Jonathan Meadows, the band enjoyed moderate success during their tenure on MCA from 1980 to 1988. Known for their versatile sound encompassing both up-tempo dance tracks and heartfelt ballads, One Way achieved five Top Ten R&B hits, with "Cutie Pie" peaking at number four in 1982. Following Myers' departure, the band shifted to Capitol in 1988 and released A New Beginning in 1989.
