Biography

Founded in 1999 by Dan Balan, the Moldova-based Eurodance trio O-Zone achieved global fame with their hit song 'Dragostea Din Tei', reaching number 1 in 32 countries and selling over 12 million copies worldwide. The song sparked an Internet phenomenon with numerous covers and led to a viral video by American Gary Brolsma, propelling him to TV appearances on shows like The Tonight Show. After their success, the band disbanded in 2005, with members Radu Sârbu and Arsenie Todiraș pursuing solo careers in Europe, and Dan Balan moving to Los Angeles to focus on a solo rock project with producer Jack Joseph Puig.

O-Zone's follow-up single 'Despre Tine' and accompanying album garnered positive reception, though not matching the massive success of 'Dragostea Din Tei'. Despite the band's split, the members continued to find success in their individual pursuits, with Sârbu and Todiraș enjoying solo careers in Europe, while Balan focused on his solo rock project in the USA.
