Biography

Formed in 2003 by friends Tahita Bulmer and Andy Spence, London indie dance group New Young Pony Club drew inspiration from artists like ESG and Gang of Four to pioneer a new electropop style of punk funk. Their debut single, Ice Cream, released in 2005 under the original name NY Pony Club, quickly sold out and sparked worldwide interest, leading to a deal with Modular/Island Recordings and the release of their acclaimed debut album Fantastic Playroom in 2007. After extensive touring, the band took a break to write their ambitious second album The Optimist, followed by their self-titled third album in 2013, showcasing a return to their original duo format.

Throughout their career, New Young Pony Club has continually evolved their sound while staying true to their indie dance roots, with hits like Hard Knocks, Things Like You, and Sure As the Sun solidifying their place in the music scene. Their unique blend of influences and innovative approach to electropop have earned them critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase worldwide.
