Renowned for his work with shoegaze band Slowdive in the early '90s, Neil Halstead has evolved into a highly respected British songwriter. Transitioning from Slowdive to Mojave 3 in the mid-'90s, Halstead skillfully blended late-'60s folk-rock influences, earning acclaim for his originality and craftsmanship.
Following personal upheaval in the early 2000s, Halstead recorded orphaned Mojave 3 songs for a possible solo album, which eventually became Sleeping on Roads in 2002. Departing from American influences, the album drew from English touchstones like Bert Jansch and Nick Drake. Halstead continued to release music, including 2008's Oh! Mighty Engine and 2012's Palindrome Hunches, showcasing his growth as a songwriter and musician.
