Canadian singer/songwriter Matthew Good gained fame in the '90s as the frontman of alt-rock group Matthew Good Band, achieving Juno-winning success before disbanding in 2002. Good's solo career began with a stylistic shift on Avalanche in 2003, followed by a live-focused release with White Light Rock & Roll Review in 2004 and a compilation album, In a Coma, in 2005.
Throughout his solo career, Good continued to evolve his sound, experimenting with different styles on albums like Hospital Music and Vancouver, both receiving critical acclaim and Juno Awards. Collaborating with longtime producer Warne Livesey, Good released Lights of Endangered Species in 2011 and explored harder rock influences on Arrows of Desire in 2013. His diverse discography includes Chaotic Neutral in 2015 and Something Like a Storm in 2017, showcasing his versatility as a musician.
