Mathematics transitioned from aspiring MC to DJ after realizing the DJ's role in controlling tempo and flow, drawing inspiration from pioneers like Grandmaster Flash and Grand Wizard Theodore.

Mathematics' association with Wu-Tang deepened when he connected with GZA and RZA, learning production techniques and developing a signature sound by creatively sampling old soul records.
