Martha and the Muffins

Martha and the Muffins, a band originating from Toronto, formed in 1977 with members Martha Johnson, Martha Ladly, Mark Gane, Carl Finkle, Tim Gane, and Andy Haas. Their debut album, Metro Music, released in 1980, featured the hit single "Echo Beach," establishing the band as a new wave sensation. Following subsequent albums such as This Is the Ice Age and Danseparc, Johnson and Gane relocated the group to England, where they released albums like Mystery Walk and The World Is a Ball under the name M+M. Martha and the Muffins continued to release music intermittently, with albums like Modern Lullaby in 1992 and Delicate in 2010.
