After gaining mainstream recognition with his 2014 album Mali Is..., Pollard continued to make waves with hits from subsequent releases, including The Transition of Mali in 2017. A Grammy winner for his collaboration with Jonathan McReynolds in 2020, the duo followed up with a joint EP in 2021.

Born in Phoenix in 1988, multi-talented Pollard released his debut album Coming in 2008, drawing inspiration from artists like Sam Cooke and Otis Redding.
