Savannah-based musician Kortney "Mali Music" Pollard creates soulful neo-soul/hip-hop music reminiscent of Lauryn Hill and D'Angelo, blending gospel influences. After gaining mainstream recognition with his 2014 album Mali Is..., Pollard continued to make waves with hits from subsequent releases, including The Transition of Mali in 2017. A Grammy winner for his collaboration with Jonathan McReynolds in 2020, the duo followed up with a joint EP in 2021.
Born in Phoenix in 1988, multi-talented Pollard released his debut album Coming in 2008, drawing inspiration from artists like Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. Signing with RCA, he made waves with Mali Is... in 2014, earning a Grammy nod. Transitioning to Provident, Pollard released The Book of Mali in 2020 and won another Grammy for his collaboration with McReynolds. Their joint EP in 2021 showcased their continued musical partnership.
