Major Harris, born into a musical family, achieved his breakthrough with the hit "Love Won't Let Me Wait" in 1975. Despite previous efforts with various groups and labels, it was this romantic ballad that propelled him to success, reaching number five on the pop charts and topping the R&B chart. Harris, known for his mellow tenor, later returned to The Delfonics before his passing in 2012 at the age of 65.
Following his successful solo career, Harris collaborated with Blue Magic and Margie Joseph, showcasing his talents as a live performer. Despite subsequent chart successes, he ultimately rejoined The Delfonics, touring with the group until his death. Harris' legacy lives on through his soulful music and memorable contributions to the R&B genre.
