Biography

Main Source, consisting of Large Professor, K-Cut, and Sir Scratch, made a significant impact on hip-hop with their classic album Breaking Atoms in 1991. Their production work, combined with Large Professor's masterful lyricism, set a new standard in the genre. Despite their influence, internal conflicts led to Large Professor leaving the group, shifting his focus to production work while the remaining members continued with limited success.

Following Large Professor's departure, Main Source released F*ck What You Think in 1994, which failed to match the success of Breaking Atoms. Meanwhile, Large Professor went on to produce for notable artists such as Eric B. & Rakim, Mobb Deep, Nas, and Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth. Although Main Source's impact waned without their key member, Large Professor continued to leave his mark on the industry with his solo work and production credits for other artists.
