Biography

Emerging from Birmingham in the early 1970s, Magnum developed a sound that blended art rock with commercial pop, finding success with albums like Chase the Dragon in 1982 and Wings of Heaven in 1988. Co-founders Bob Catley and Tony Clarkin briefly disbanded in 1995 but re-formed in the early 2000s as Magnum 2.0, releasing acclaimed albums like The Visitation and Lost on the Road to Eternity.

Formed by Tony Clarkin and Bob Catley in 1972, Magnum initially played at Birmingham's Rum Runner nightclub before signing with Jet Records and gaining recognition with albums like Chase the Dragon. The band saw commercial success in Europe with releases like On a Storyteller Night and Wings of Heaven, and despite temporary hiatuses and lineup changes, has continued to produce music that resonates with fans across the continent.
