Tim Stahl and John Guldberg, the Copenhagen-based duo known as Laid Back, rose to fame in the 1980s with hits like "Sunshine Reggae" and "White Horse." After early success with Teldec subsidiary Ultraphone, the duo signed with Medley and later Ariola, producing albums like Hole in the Sky and Why Is Everybody in Such a Hurry! Their career also saw them composing film music, winning a Robert award for their work on Flyvende Farmor, and releasing self-produced albums like Cosmic Vibes and Uptimistic Music in the 2010s.

Laid Back's eclectic mix of electro-funk and reggae-influenced tracks made them a standout act in the '80s music scene. Their signature hits like "Bakerman" and "White Horse" gained international fame, with the latter topping the Billboard club chart. Despite a quieter period in the '90s, the duo continued to release albums, score film music, and maintain a presence in the music industry through the 2000s and beyond, with a string of self-released projects showcasing their enduring creativity and innovation.
