LaBrassBanda, a Bavarian brass band from Übersee near the Chiemsee, gained national success in the late 2000s and early 2010s with their unique blend of folk brass music and modern genres like ska, techno, funk, and punk. Their lively stage shows, performed barefoot in lederhosen and T-shirts, have garnered attention, particularly after their participation in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Nackert" from their album Europa, which became a Top Ten hit.
Formed in 2007 by trumpet player and singer Stefan Dettl, LaBrassBanda quickly rose to fame with their self-recorded debut album Habediehre in 2008. Their unconventional tour from Übersee to Vienna for the 2008 European soccer championship, using mopeds and a tractor instead of a tour bus, further solidified their reputation. Despite lineup changes, the band continued to find chart success with albums like Kiah Royal in 2014 and Around the World in 2017, showcasing their dynamic musical style and expanding global reach.
