Originating from Culiacán, Sinaloa, the band "La Ventaja" derived its name from their early days of playing with guitars, incorporating a rural or northern sound with accordion and drums, offering the advantage of versatility. Starting off by performing at private events, the band eventually expanded beyond Sinaloa, showcasing their dual musical styles. Combining regional music with elements of DJ or reggaeton in songs like "el fresa y el buchón" and "no era yo," La Ventaja embraced a diverse approach while staying true to their Mexican regional roots, as exemplified in the track "yo te necesito," which garnered attention in various regions of Mexico and the United States. Formed in late 2014 by Irvin Sánchez (accordion, requinto, and lead vocals), La Ventaja aimed to realize their dream of becoming a well-established group in the Mexican regional music scene.
