Biography

La Sera, initially a dreamy pop solo project by Brooklyn bassist Katy Goodman of Vivian Girls, evolved from punk to alt-country over time. After collaborating with producer Brady Hall in Seattle, La Sera signed with Hardly Art Records in 2010, releasing singles like "Never Come Around" and "Devils Hearts Grow Gold" before their self-titled debut in 2011, showcasing Goodman's ethereal vocals and '50s pop influences.

With a changing lineup, La Sera continued to release albums like Sees the Light in 2012 and Hour of the Dawn in 2014 under Hardly Art, before switching to Polyvinyl for 2016's Music for Listening to Music To. The band's sound transitioned to an alt-country style with the influence of producer Ryan Adams, marking a new chapter for La Sera as Goodman and guitarist Todd Wisenbaker took the lead in songwriting and vocals.
