Banda el Limón is a long-standing Mexican banda group formed in the mid-1960s and led by clarinetist Salvador Lizarraga Sánchez. Over the years, the 17-member band has featured various renowned vocalists such as Julio Preciado, José Ángel Ledesma, Jorge Cordero, Luis Antonio López, and Nico Flores. The band's name "original" signifies its split into two factions, with the other faction known as La Arrolladora Banda el Limón led by René Camacho, also a clarinetist. Banda el Limón is recognized for blending traditional and modern elements in their music, being among the first in the banda genre to incorporate amplification and synthesis. The group has released several successful albums, including Derecho de Antiguedad (2009), Soy Tu Maestro: 45 Años Gracias a Ti (2010), Fin de Semana (2013), and Mas Original Que Nunca (2016), as well as live recordings like En Vivo Zocalo and Un Pequeño Momento en Vivo Para Alguien Muy Especial in 2017.
